The architectural design of Sadi VI was heavily influenced by George Crouch’s seminal 1924 American Gold Cup racer, Baby Bootlegger. Sadi VI adopted the aerodynamic, cigar-shaped narrowing rear deck line seen on Baby Bootlegger. This aesthetic choice served a functional purpose, decreasing wind resistance and keeping the tail from digging into the water under hard acceleration. Chaptois was the chief hull designer at the renowned Georges de Coninck shipyard.
