One of the best-known designers and builders in the world of flat bottom and 3-point hydroplane racing, Fred Wickens built winning hulls from as early as the mid-1940's in the 135cid class, through the 1970's when he founded Aqua Craft Boats, specializing in competition flat-bottom SK-class racing hulls. "Wamp-Pum" is a mid-1960's Wickens flat bottom design, an early example of the SK-class racer using big-block production engines. Powered by a 455 Pontiac engine, which was the largest available competitive option at the time
